Civics In Action course is based on the idea of increasing political efficacy in Pitt County students by encouraging students to gain first-hand knowledge of the government from interacting with local and state officials. Students will be encouraged to get involved in a passion-project, as well as attend local government meetings and take tours of local facilities. Politicians will be included in classroom discussions. Once the habits of efficacy are established, the hope is that the youth of Pitt County will become more politically inclined as future leaders of North Carolina.
The Community EngagementStudents in this course must get out of the classroom & experience government first hand. Students have the opportunity to decide which event fits their needs best.
